HWC 2010 in Rio de Janerio

Introduction

The Homeless World Cup is an international soccer tournament, where a homeless person gets a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent their country and change their life forever. The 2010 tournament will be held September 19th-26th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Urban Opportunities for Change Foundation, Inc. is beginning the selection process to find players who will speak for their country, regarding the international issue of  homelessness, using football as a tool. This is an incredible and empowering experience for a marginalized person. Please consider nominating someone who will add to the advocacy of the Homeless World Cup, “Everyone Needs a Home,” and change that person’s life forever.
We have completed two successful years. The Philippines has been represented in Melbourne and Milan. The 2010 players, will incur no costs. All food, lodging, airfare, uniforms, and training will be provided. In addition, a stipend will be given during the players stay in Rio. The 2010 players are expected to commit to training, team and media events before and after the games.
